WINTHROP - A 13-year-old Winthrop boy died Monday afternoon from injuries received after he was struck by a semi while riding his bicycle along Highway 15 near Winthrop on Saturday.
The family of Jacob Weber, son of John and Karla Weber, issued the following statement through Hennepin County Medical Center.
"Our son, brother and friend was injured while riding his bicycle on Saturday, September 15. He was doing what he loved to do; but sadly, in spite of all efforts to save him, Jacob did not survive his injuries. With heavy hearts and many tears, we said goodbye to him this afternoon.
