National Donate Life month kicks off at Coffee Memorial Blood Center

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Coffee Memorial Blood Center hosted the National Donate Life kickoff event on March 28. Coffee memorial Blood Center, Donate Life Texas -- locally known as LifeGift -- Northwest Texas Hospital and Baptist Saint Anthony's along with several other sponsors teamed up for the month of April to raise awareness on the need for blood donation and organ/tissue donation.

The more people who register to donate their organs and the more people who donate blood, the more lives can be saved.

A Northwest Texas Hospital Lifestar helicopter and a Baptist Saint Anthony's ambulance were scheduled to be on display. Lifestar treated one of he the rcipients, Alex McCausland, 16, to a trip over Amarillo with his brother Evan.
