Family speak of pride after cyclist killed in crash donates organs

A CYCLIST killed in a crash has saved the lives of several people – after donating his organs.

Grandfather Martin Prendergast was discovered with head injuries in the road near where he lives.

The 46-year-old, of Lydia Drive, Birches Head, was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital but died later that day.

Now his loved-ones have taken the brave decision to agree to donate his organs to create something positive out of the tragedy.

In a statement his family, including his wife Jan, said: "The death of Martin has left a huge hole in our family. He was much loved and we are all deeply saddened by his death.

"We will miss him so much but will treasure the memories we have of him forever. Continue reading
