LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) - There are more than 120,000 people nationwide waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant.
One person can help eight people through organ donation, and another 50 or more through a tissue and eye donation.
There are about 2,000 people on the organ transplant list in Wisconsin and more than 3,000 waiting in Minnesota.
Deciding whether to be an organ donor can be a difficult decision, but it can have a life altering impact on others.
Matt Foote, of Trempealeau, died in January of this year.
"Certain things are harder, Father's Day, birthdays," his wife Tracy Foote said.
Tracy said he was a loving father and a sweet man with a big heart.
"Just a great person," Tracy said.
