Knoxville man, popular restaurant worker, recovering from kidney transplant surgery

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – He is one of the welcoming faces at a popular Knoxville restaurant, always with an upbeat attitude despite a long battle with kidney disease.

“Welcome to Moe’s!” is the standard greeting at the popular eatery. If you’ve been to Moe’s on Northshore near Pellissippi Parkway, you have no doubt shared a smile with Daniel Davis as you placed your order.

He’s just one of those people who makes everyone feel at home.

Davis shared his story with some people while others had no idea he was suffering from kidney disease. He was diagnosed in 2007 and in recent months, it had taken its toll.

His co-workers supported him with a fundraiser and rallied around him as he dealt with dialysis and the daily rigors of the disease. Continue reading
