WHITESBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - There was a lot of blue Tuesday in Letcher County. Not in support of the Cougars or Kentucky Wildcats, but to honor someone who died and saved others in the process.
Tuesday was Jacob Lucas Day in the county and many people wore blue shirts to memorialize the 21-year-old man who died two years ago from injuries sustained in a car crash.
Lucas was an organ donor and saved at least four lives.
The people who knew him best gathered Tuesday night at Whitesburg Riverside Park to mark the two-year anniversary of his death while also celebrating the life that came from it.
