Gymnast aged 22 with 'heart and lungs of an 80-year-old' creates bucket list after organ transplant refused

List: Sonny Lang has a list of things she wants to do before passing away

22-year-old gymnast has created a bucket list after she was refused an organ transplant by doctors who say she has the heart and lungs of an 80-year-old.

Sonny Lang underwent a heart and lung transplant when she was only four for her cystic fibrosis and has defied medical predictions she would only live until she was around 14.

She vowed to live a normal life, yet despite keeping fit and even training with the British gymnastics squad, Sonny contracted pneumonia during a holiday in Crete.

Her lung collapsed leaving her critically ill. But when she got back to Britain doctors at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester said she would not survive another transplant as her organs are so weak.

Now friends of college student Sonny, from Tadcaster, North Yorks, are trying to raise money for her to fulfil her bucket list.

Her wishes include a trip to Disney Land Florida, a hot air balloon ride, a session with a MAC makeup artist and to learn to drive. Continue reading
