Nancy Lockhart went to Omaha for a liver. She had been on the transplant list for some five years.

She and her husband, Larry, live in Casa Grande.

Transplant donors and recipients are matched by region. In Arizona’s region, the math wasn’t good.

Nancy’s doctor suggested Omaha. Nebraska is in a different region.

Larry, 66, spent his working life writing and editing for newspapers. He retired from the Dispatch about two years ago.

In college, though, he was a business major.
