Kidney Walk in Tillsonburg renamed in memory of Dylan D'Hulster

Tillsonburg's annual Kidney Walk, renamed in memory of Dylan D'Hulster, who passed away in January 2015, surpassed its goal for both participants and funds raised.

Sunday morning's Dylan D'Hulster Kidney Walk saw more than 50 people – almost double last year's total – walk a 3 or 5 km route from Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, finishing at the hospital with a barbecue.

"Our fundraising goal is $3,00 and I think we're over $7,000," said Greg D'Hulster, Dylan's father, noting the local Kidney Walk was among the Top 20 fundraisers in the province, and two teams were in the Top 15 province-wide for dollars raised.

"Which is pretty good for the small town of Tillsonburg. Lots of individuals too."

"It's been an amazing outpouring of support," said Rizwana Ramzanali, fund development officer for the Ontario Branch of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Southwestern Ontario Chapter. Continue reading
