If you knew Brian Faulkner, you knew he was an incredibly generous man. He was a corporal for the Alabama Bureau of Investigation, dedicating his life to justice and helping people. He was dedicated to his wife, Heather, and teenage son, Blake.
On March 9, 2014, Brian was in a motorcycle accident. The doctor gave him a 50/50 chance of survival. On March 18, Brian was pronounced brain dead after 10 days spent in the Intensive Care Unit. The news was devastating to his family.
But Brian was known for his kindness and his desire to help people, and he and his wife had discussed that he was an organ donor and wanted to donate his organs after his death.
Heather says, "It was an incredibly hard conversation, but I'm so glad we had it." Brian's donation resulted in two individuals with restored vision, a heart transplant, a liver transplant, and two kidney transplants as well as valuable tissue and bone marrow donations.
