Dying mum waiting for lung transplant 'has weeks to live' as friends keep promise to honour her last wish

Friends of Ashley Harris Moore who suffers from cystic fibrosis want families to be more open with each other about their plans for organ donation

A mum in need of a double lung transplant is critically ill in hospital after her condition took a turn for the worse, her friends have confirmed.

Ashley Harris Moore, who suffers from cystic fibrosis, is said to now be relying on a special machine to assist her oxygen levels as she continues to wait for a donor.

Last month we told who the condition has seen her health quickly deteriorate over the last year and a recent hospital test showed she had just 16 per cent lung capacity.

But her condition worsened on Thursday and friends are now pushing for her last wish for more people to join the organ donation register to be honoured.

Speaking to Mirror Online Pamela Scarborough said: "It is becoming more urgent and without organs she is going to die and she's not coming out of hospital without new lungs but she is not alone and she is being motivated knowing she is helping others." Continue reading
