Family Holds "Woodstock" Event To Honor Young Man Killed in Crash

The event will support the Gift of Life Donor Program

Stroudsburg, Monroe County – Lin Moyer, a nurse, got called into work at Pocono Medical Center early one morning five years ago. She passed a crowd of emergency responders on the way. She recalled, "I'm like oh wow. There's like emergency people everywhere and bright lights."

When she arrived at the hospital, she learned those responders were helping her son Ethan who was hit by a drunk driver. Soon after, Ethan died from his injuries. He was twenty-years-old. "Shocked doesn't even tell you how you feel,” said Lin.

Ethan had listed himself as an organ donor on his driver’s license. Lin and her husband, Ron, followed his wishes and donated them through the Gift of Life Donor Program.

Ethan’s gift saved seven lives with major organs. His skin, tissue, and vessels helped more than 100 people. Ron said, "It was like his spirit went out to the people that helped him and he wanted to give back to them." Continue reading
