LANCASTER, Ohio - You never know in the middle of the everyday grind and in the heart of that crowded street to and from work just who might be driving next to you.
The odds of running in to someone you know in Lancaster is one in about 39,000.
Bobby Lester wishes his odds were that good.
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, there are more than 122,000 people in the United States currently waiting for an organ transplant.
Lester is one of them.
"It wouldn't be so bad - I've got two kidneys but both of them are less than three percent," he said.
His genetic disorder, which hinders his kidneys from getting rid of toxic waste, has resulted in stage five kidney disease.
"I'd be lost without him," Lester's wife, Dee Irvin, said. "He's changed my life since I met him." Continue reading
