LITTLE boy’s life-saving liver op has inspired 2800 Scots to sign up as organ donors – smashing the target for Transplant Week .

The Daily Record told how Evan Goodbrand was saved by a family who donated their loved one’s organs.

Evan, 10, of Bishopbriggs , near Glasgow , was nine months old when he had the liver transplant.

He celebrated the 10th anniversary of his new liver last month by helping launch Transplant Week.

Evan needed the op after he was diagnosed with biliary atresia – a condition in which infants don’t have normal openings in their liver bile ducts – at eight weeks old.

He had surgery but it was unsuccessful and, at eight months, Evan was put on the waiting list for a new liver. Continue reading
