Annie Potts takes a trip to New Orleans for the first November sweeps episode of NCIS: New Orleans—and Parade.com has the exclusive inside scoop straight from the show’s creator Gary Glasberg.
Potts guest stars as Olivia Brody, mother of Special Agent Meredith “Merri” Brody (Zoe McLellan), who comes to town when a genius Navy coder she employs is supposed to have a heart transplant, but the organ is stolen.
“Annie is terrific,” Glasberg says. “She brings such fun and quirk and eccentricity to the role. Brody really is constantly struggling with who her mom is, what her mom needs and what her relationship with her mom is. That is set against the very emotional case of a heart transplant. So you have this ticking clock-driven storyline of this young man in addition to the emotion and the fun of what Brody is dealing with, with Annie.”
Then on November 10, Special Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) and Sonja (Shalita Grant) are ambushed and on the run after traveling to Texas to escort a key witness, Marc Maslow (guest star Jay Thomas), for the trial of an infamous arms dealer that Pride apprehended. Continue reading
