'We were praying for a miracle for Emilie, and we got four'

WABASH, Ind. -- Emilie Harnish, 17, was involved in a car accident in Wabash on October 24. Five days later, she died.

Since then her organs have been harvested to grant the gift of life.

Harnish learned many lessons at Southwood High School. But, by donating her organs, she is teaching others an important lesson.

"She is teaching several lessons. She's always been this way. It's never been about her. It's always been about other kids," said Chris Harnish, Emilie's father.

Harnish is proud of Emilie's selfless donation of her organs, but make no mistake -- he and his older daughter, Mollie miss her very much.

Emilie loved volleyball. Her team was runner-up in the state tournament in 2014.
