Fife shoppers can spread festive cheer by joining NHS Organ Donor Register

Fife Christmas shoppers will be offered a free festive wrapping service this weekend as part of a campaign to increase the number of people on the NHS Organ Donor Register.

The special festive paper, designed by the daughters of a woman waiting on a kidney transplant, will be used to encourage people to take two minutes out of their day to sign up at the Kingdom Shopping Centre in Glenrothes on Saturday, December 12, and the Mercat Shopping Centre in Kirkcaldy on Sunday, December 13.

Last December, 3937 big hearted Scots joined the register and the campaign is hoping to build on this by urging those who haven’t got round to joining the NHS Organ Donor Register to make this December count.

People in the NHS Fife area have already shown their support for organ donation, with 41.7 per cent of the population on the Register. Continue reading
