AUSTIN -- The community came together for a Christmas party and fundraiser Tuesday night in East Austin.

The owner of Dozen Street on East 12th holds a cookie decorating party every year. This year's event was also to raise money for Donate Life.

Buchta is part of the KVUE family. His band, The Misfit Toys, took the stage at the fundraiser. This cause is also personal for him after a liver transplant saved his life three years ago.

"I was a very sick kid and spent a lot of Christmases in the hospital myself," he said.

Money raised at the party will go to buy Donate Life flags that will fly every time a child dies and donates their organs to save others. Continue reading Video
