Kinsley Kinner became organ donor, will help up to 6 other children, her father says

CINCINNATI -- A little boy named Wyatt and a little girl named Kinsley never got to meet in life.

Still, the two toddlers might become inseparable.

Kinsley Kinner, 2, died Thursday. Butler County law enforcement officials say the girl was the victim of a beating at the hands of her mother's boyfriend, Bradley Young. Young now faces charges of felony assault and murder. Kinsley's mother, Rebecca Kinner, is charged with felony child abuse.

Wyatt, also 2, was born with a congenital heart defect called transposition of the great arteries, which leaves a shortage of oxygen in blood. Then in May, he was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, a condition in which the tiny arteries of the lungs become blocked.

Because Kinsley's family chose for her to be an organ donor, Wyatt went into surgery late Friday night to receive Kinsley's lungs, her father said. Continue reading
