SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) - A Sacramento mother is helping to honor her daughter's legacy in the Rose Parade after her daughter gave the gift of life.
On Tuesday, Nicole Perez was putting the finishing touches on a floragraph -- one of 60 portraits made out of flower seeds will go on a float in the Rose Bowl parade on New Year's Day.
Perez's 13-year-old daughter, Marina, died nearly 3 years ago after a brain bleed.
Perez said her daughter was passionate about helping people, and weeks before her sudden death asked her parents to donate her organs if anything should ever happen to her.
The Sacramento teen helped save four lives and restored the site of two people.
Sierra Donor Services said the donate life float shows there is hope after death. Continue reading
