Shelby Rebekah Seabaugh died unexpectedly more than a year ago, but it was her life – and the lives that her organs and tissues improved – that was remembered at a ceremony in Magnolia this week.

Seabaugh, 21, of Magnolia, was taken by a sudden illness on March 27, 2014. Her earlier decision to be an organ donor led to an announcement this past June that she had been selected for a unique style of recognition that will happen during the 2016 Rose Bowl Parade on New Year’s Day.

The young woman was selected as the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency’s representative to be remembered with a “floragraph” of her image on the parade’s “Donate Life” float.

A “finishing ceremony” was held for the floragraph on Tuesday afternoon at Magnolia Regional Medical Center. Continue Reading
