Upstate professor chosen to be in 2016 Rose Parade

ANDERSON, S.C. —Clemson and Anderson University economics professor Miren Ivankovic has been chosen to be a part of the 2016 Rose Parade.

Ivankovic will be a part of the Donate Life float. He received a tissue donation after erosion left a hole in his hip.

"I couldn't walk. I was on crutches and basically my right leg was 3 maybe even 4 inches shorter. It was inside my body pretty much," Ivankovic told WYFF News 4's Allyson Powell on Wednesday.

Ivankovic is one of 24 people who will represent the country on the float. He believes the spot holds great responsibility to get the word out on the need for organ and tissue donation. Continue reading
