10 years later, Nashville woman doing well after heart transplant

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Nashville mom received a gift that keeps on giving 10 years ago.

Ashelie Davis was a fairly healthy teenager, but when she was just 20 years old she was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy.

“My heart was really, really weak. It made me really weak,” Davis told News 2 on Valentine’s Day, which shares the day with National Donor Day.

It turned out to be genetic, she learned her family has history of Cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure. Continue reading
