Court clerk releases 2015 organ donor statistics

During 2015, clerks with the Jessamine County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office helped more than 1,500 people sign up to be organ donors.

“Our driver’s license counter is the number-one place Kentuckians register as donors,” said Doug Fain, circuit court clerk. “This year, 1,566 generous Jessamine County Residents said ‘yes’ and joined the confidential Kentucky Organ Donor Registry.”

Fain said his office also collected a total of $5,683 for the Trust For Life, a non-profit organization “dedicated to educating all Kentuckians about organ donation and helping patients in need.”
