NFL Super Bowl Champion T.J. Ward Supports Organ And Tissue Donation

Donor Network West

Denver Broncos safety T.J. Ward will speak in support of organ, eye and tissue donation and encourage the community to lead healthy lifestyles at the San Francisco Citywide Revival. The talk, to take place on March 24, is organized by Donor Network West, the organ procurement organization that heals lives through donation.

Now in its 11th year, the Revival is comprised of nightly fellowship services that will reach more than 3,500 attendees at the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco, March 21-25. In addition to organ and tissue donation, the congregation will hear messages that focus on wellness of the spirit, soul and body.

“This year’s theme is ‘Bringing It Back Home’ and that is exactly what I’m doing. I’m coming back to the community that I’m from to encourage folks to eat home-prepared meals with fresh ingredients, exercise and to talk about donation with their loved ones,” says T.J. Ward.

T.J. Ward is a seventh-year safety and two-time National Football League Pro Bowl selection. He has started all 81 career regular-season games and four postseason contests played for Cleveland (2010-13) and Denver (2014-15) during his first six NFL seasons. In January of 2012, his cousin, Dennis Smith, passed away and saved lives as an organ and tissue donor. Six months later, he lost his uncle, Jacob Wallace, Sr., who also helped heal lives through tissue donation. Continue reading
