Organ donors honored by state officials

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The state honored dozens of residents who saved lives this past year, but none of them could attend the ceremony Thursday.

The honorees were awarded for actions after their deaths, specifically organ donations.

Gov. Jay Inslee and organ donor advocates presented more than 90 family members of donors with the “Gift of Life Award.”

The donors saved approximately 400 lives in the last year, according to LifeCenter Northwest. Continue reading
