Announcing Australia’s first ever transplant triathlon

The organisers of the Australian Transplant Games in Western Sydney are proud to announce the staging of a first-ever transplant triathlon.

The triathlon will be held as part of the Penrith Triathlon Club’s September race on the day of registration of the Australian Transplant Games.

The triathlon will be held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith and will consist of a swim, cycle and run over different distances pending your age.

Adults will compete in either the Enticer or Enduro categories which consist of a 250 metre swim, 10km cycle and 2km run. The difference between the two events is in the Enduro you get to do it twice!

Juniors aged 10-11 will compete over a 100 metre swim, 5km cycle and 1km run. Juniors aged over 12 will compete in a 250 metre swim, 10km cycle and 2km run.

Everyone competing will be in the same competition as the regular triathlon club members although please note this is a medal event for the Australian Transplant Games for transplant athletes. Games supporters are also eligible to participate for a Games medallion. Continue reading
