Fallen S.W.A.T. officer's organ donation inspires others to do the same

As the community prepares to say a final goodbye to Officer Steven M. Smith, his legacy of saving lives is growing longer.

Even in death Smith could still give life to eight more people as an organ donor. His willingness to sacrifice himself for others, is inspiring people to do the same.

Viewers said it was his story, which compelled them to call into a phone bank set up by Lifeline of Ohio inside the ABC 6/FOX 28 studios about signing up for the donor registry. Lifeline of Ohio was raising awareness National Donate Life Month, which is in April. Continue reading
