Health Matters: Organ Recipient Meets Donor's Family

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - An organ transplant is bringing two families together one year later.

It's an emotional reunion that involves the loss of a loved one and the life they saved.

"I knew he was a 23-year-old male from Arkansas, which really broke my heart because he's so young," says Laurie Hatcher, lung transplant recipient.

With very little information, Hatcher, of Indianapolis, boarded a flight to Little Rock to learn more about the man who saved her life.

"They're only allowed to tell you three things. The sex, how old he was and where the organs came from," she explains. Continue reading
