Mpls. family awaiting heart for daughter

ROCHESTER, Minn. -- Jordan and Katelyn Young hope they can tell their daughter about the person who saved her life.

Jett Everly Young is four months old and waiting for a new heart. In honor of Donate Life Month, Jordan and Katelyn are sharing the story of their baby girl to raise awareness about donation.

Their daughter, Jett, is among the more than 120,000 Americans waiting for an organ transplant.

Jett was born with Critical Aortic Stenosis. It’s a condition that narrows the aortic valve. Because of it, Jett’s body does not get as much oxygen as it should.

She had open hurt surgery in December but it didn't work. Machines at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester have kept her alive since January. Continue reading
