A young boy has been waiting so long for a heart transplant he now needs a triple organ transplant.
William Simpson, nine, has been on the list for a new heart for seven years.
His parents have now been told a heart transplant by itself is too risky and he will need new lungs as well, a far more complex procedure.
Mum Tracey, 42, said: “It is a case of waiting and hoping he can possibly have a heart and lung transplant.
“We were told to bring him home and make lots of memories in case he doesn’t get to that.
“It’s a much more dangerous operation with greater risk of death. He has to have it but we don’t know if they will find a donor". Continue reading
