10-month-old girl with rare condition needs liver transplant


RENO, Nev. (Fox 11) — 10-month-old Mila Steele was born with a condition called bilary atresia. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases describes her condition as "a life-threatening condition in infants in which the bile ducts inside or outside the liver do not have normal openings."

In her first year of life, Mila already needs a liver transplant. Mila's mother, Bria Steele, wants to be a living liver donor for her daughter, but is still awaiting test results to see if she's a perfect match.

Even if Bria can donate her own organ to her daughter rather than wait for the donor registry to find a match, the Steele family will need financial help. That's why Ken Allen with Amplified Entertainment is stepping in.
