Donate Life flag raised in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY — In recognizing April as National Donate Life Month, Donate Life West Virginia, the Center for Organ Recovery and Education, and Montgomery General Hospital representatives gathered last week as a new Donate Life flag was raised at the hospital.

At the same time, representatives discussed the importance of organ, eye and tissue transplants.

"At Donate Life West Virginia, our goal is to go across the state and encourage hospitals to recognize and honor organ, tissue and cornea donors and recognize the gifts and life they give to recipients," said Christy Conley, West Virginia community outreach coordinator for CORE.

According to Donate Life West Virginia, organ, eye and tissue transplants "offer patients a new chance at healthy, productive and normal lives and return them to their families, friends and communities." Continue reading
