Families affected by Down Syndrome advocate for bills

Boston - More than 200 families affected by Down Syndrome gathered at the State House for the third annual Advocacy Day.

The families were advocating for funding for the Department of Developmental Services.

At the state level, there is a currently a more than $15 million shortfall for services for people with developmental disabilities.

The two priority bills have to do with making higher education more accessible for people with disabilities and also to ban discrimination for people waiting for organ transplants. Continue reading
