Inspirational girl, 9, signs up for organ donor card as mum waits for life-saving kidney transplant

A brave little girl has signed up for an organ donor card after her mum suffered from life-threatening kidney failure.

Olivia-Julie Carroll is just nine years old, so she's too young to donate a live organ - the usual minimum age is 18 - but she wants to encourage adults to opt in.

Nicola Carroll, 30, from Burnley, Lancashire, was diagnosed with kidney failure two years ago.

And she says her daughter 'has been her rock' ever since.

She's raised money for patients awaiting kidney transplants, and decided to become a donor because 'without people signing up there would be no one to save her mummy'.
