'Luke Lives On' 5K to raise awareness about organ donation

GOSHEN — An amazing 5K road race, supported by extraordinary commitment, is scheduled for Sunday, May 29, in the Village of Goshen.

The “Luke Lives 5K Run Walk” honors Lucas O’Connor, a Goshen High School student, who died in a car accident last year. Luke was an organ donor, and several of his organs were used to save lives.

In fact, one, or possibly two, recipients of Luke’s organs are participating in the race. What better testimony to the benefits of organ donation?

Luke’s parents, Char and Randy O’Connor, support the race not only to keep Luke’s memory alive, but to call attention to the importance of organ donors, said Erin Sherry, who is working with Stacy Cameron as co-race director.
