Mayor Peduto, Sue Sciullo to urge Pittsburghers to choose organ donation


Pittsburgh, PA – On Wednesday, May 11, Mayor William Peduto, Donate Life Pennsylvania representatives, and transplant recipients will host a press conference at the North Side T Station to highlight a new organ donation registration initiative that will take over the city’s transit station for an entire month.

Sue Sciullo will talk about her son, Pittsburgh Police Officer Paul Sciullo II, who became a tissue donor after he was killed in the line of duty in 2009. She will be joined by Antonela Kasic, who is on the organ transplant waiting list while she pursues a degree in nursing from Duquesne University, as well as Moses Hart, who received a life-saving heart transplant in February.

On select dates during the month of May, Donate Life Pennsylvania representatives will canvass the North Side T Station and encourage riders to become registered organ and tissue donors. Canvassers will help people register using reading
