St. Augustine Beach woman becomes lifeline for fiancee

Provided by Ranae Foster Tyler Pezak and Ranae Foster, in attendance at a Philadelphia Eagles football game, are engaged to be married. But first, Foster will be donating a kidney to her fiance. The couple hopes to go through with the transplant surgery in June.

When Ranae Foster met Tyler Pezak, she didn’t realize that she was going to give him more than her heart.

Foster is also Pezak’s kidney donor match, and both hope to go through with the transplant surgery in June.

They met about two years ago at a friend’s party in St. Augustine Beach. Both went to the same high school and spent the night catching up, ending it with a kiss.

They were dating for nine months when Pezak came down with an intestinal infection in October 2014, causing his kidneys to fail and shutting down other organs. Pezak received a kidney transplant when he was four years old, and it lasted him far longer than the estimated 10 to 12 years. Continue reading
