College World Series fans celebrate day 1 of tournament

OMAHA, Neb. -  Baseball fans from across the country have made it to the metro for Omaha’s biggest summer event.

Eight team colors fly over the Omaha baseball village for this year’s College World Series.

Saturday was officially the first day of the tournament, but there’s plenty for people to do before the first pitch.

Thousands of visitors can shop, play games and pick up some team swag downtown.

A new Nebraska Medicine booth is being featured this year, encouraging everyone to sign up to be an organ donor and launching a friendly competition to see which state can get the most names.

“One organ donor can save or enhance up to 60 lives so the impact is phenomenal,” Trinity Williams, education coordinator for Nebraska Medicine said. Continue reading
