Stevensville trees replanted in honor of organ donor

Northwestern Energy recently re-planted dozens of trees along the Stevensville bike path after crews had to remove the original ones to make room for new power equipment.

But those trees aren't just about making the area look pretty, they are there for another reason -- one a family hopes we won't forget.

"He was riding his bike on the side of the road and an irrigation pipe was sticking out the passenger window and hit him in the back of the head," said Janet Beer, Will's mom.

It's been almost 30 years since it happened -- that bike ride on the Stevensville Cut Off Road where in 1988 Will Wyatt, 14, was killed.

"It's really hard because moms always want to take care of their children and sometimes there are thing we cannot shelter them from. And this was one of those times that my arms could not protect him," Beer said.
