CLEVELAND- Fox 8 viewers and one very special community partner have stepped in to help a grieving family get a tombstone for their deceased daughter before her August 28th birthday.
It’s been a year since Amber Travaglio frantically performed CPR and tried to save her 7-year-old daughter Melody, after a “sudden asphyxic” asthma attack. Before the attack, Melody was healthy and although young was already volunteering and dreaming of traveling into outer space.
“I never thought I’d go to the cemetery to visit my child,” said Amber.
Devastating bouts with depression and huge medical bills prevented them from getting Melody a tombstone, but recently friends started a GoFundMe account.
Fox 8 aired the story, and soon afterward was contacted by Milano Monuments President Jim Milano who said they wanted to help the family.
“The loss we saw the mother go through and her pain really struck me,” said Jim. “But also the gift of life that she gave.” Continue reading
