Inside the Story: One woman's tragedy turns to life-changing surgery for another

(KUTV) A life-changing surgery for one woman means tragedy for another. But now, new life is born as these women share a common bond.

Levi Johnson was just 11 years old when he lost his life, along with his father, Todd, in December 2014. The two were hit and killed by a drunk driver while walking near 7800 South and 6300 West.

His mother, Rhonda, made the decision to donate Levi's organs. A young woman in Lehi, Maddy Richardson, received one of his corneas and it changed her life.

Richardson was diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease in elementary school and was legally blind by the time she was in high school. Continue reading
