FORT WAYNE, Ind. Ed Kester looks like any ordinary man: happy and healthy; however, a little over a year ago, he was battling for his life.
"Over 4 years I was on dialysis and had gotten some calls for high risk kidneys that didn't work out," said Kester.
But it did. Kester received a kidney by an altruistic donor, meaning he had no knowledge who the donor was. Fast forward one year later, and their relationship is quite the opposite.
"I call him my old man best friend, I know that's really not the best thing," laughed Genie Walters.
