Organ donor focuses on top health

On July 9, 2014, Jennifer Adams, a Moriarty resident, offered to give up one of her kidneys to one of her students, an act of sacrifice that has led Adams on a winding journey that’s brought her three gold medals in a national sporting event, the Transplant Games, which recently concluded in Ohio.

Adams will be moving on from representing her state to representing her nation: next year, she’ll be competing in Spain in the World Transplant Games.

“It’s exciting,” Adams said of her global debut. “I want to find out what my potential is. The medals are nice, but I want to find out just how good of shape I can be in. As humans, we have a lot of potential physically, emotionally and mentally. We never push ourselves to see what our potential is and I’d like to see what my limits are. Continue reading
