OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - A softball game with the Papillion-La Vista High School team honored a handful of people who have received organ donations on Saturday.
The game was also about fundraising for Donate Life Nebraska and bringing awareness to organ donation.
“In 8th grade I had to get surgery which was a cornea transplant in my left eye,” said senior pitcher Clara Dargy.
She has her eyesight thanks to someone being an organ donor.
Another player’s father and softball coach also has a heart thanks to a donation.
“The gift I have received from DeMarco and Margo is overwhelming at times, I am thankful for each day, the gift of just today and this moment,” said Tony DeGeorge who received a heart ten years ago at Nebraska Medicine years ago from Margo Redman’s son at. Continue reading
