Father of House Fire Survivor Donates Son's Organs To Help Others

A grieving father decided to save others after losing his 7 children to a house fire.

Earnest Jett Jr. told Local 24 earlier this week his son Cameron was brain dead and he would donate his organs.

The news came after a South Memphis house fire had already killed 9 other family members and friends.

Friday a hospital spokesperson confirmed Cameron died Wednesday, and the organ donation process was complete.

"If I could help somebody else's child, if somebody could help my child to live that's what I want," Jett Jr. told reporters Wednesday.

He said after his son, Cameron, was declared brain dead they kept him on life support to donate his organs. Continue reading
