BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Ken Krawczyk was a husband, father and volunteer firefighter. At the end of his life, many will add the word charitable.
"It was Ken's last wish to give back unselfishly and replace blood from the local community blood bank that gave back to him," said Unyts Relationships Development Manager Linda Sollie.
Krawczyk lived with ulcerative colitis and later, liver disease, for many years. During a liver transplant in late June, complications arose and he passed away.
Prior to his death, he also wanted to draw attention to organ donations. Both of these requests were met Saturday as the Krawczyk family partnered with Unyts for a "Replenish the Need" blood and organ donor sign-up drive. Continue reading
