Pinjarra transplant recipient wins big at Australian Transplant Games

PINJARRA transplant recipient Rev John Coman has returned from the Australian Transplant Games in Sydney with a swag of awards.

The former teacher won two gold medals in swimming and a silver in 10-pin bowling.

“Our 16-person dragon boat team (of which I was the captain) won silver – we were beaten by a dragon snout on the line,” he said.

Rev Coman was thrilled because he is the fastest person in Australia over 60-years-old who has had a transplant medal in freestyle and breaststroke. Continue reading
