Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones has hailed the success of the system in Wales and urged the Health Secretary to do the same across the UK

Jeremy Hunt has been urged to adopt an opt-out organ donor system and stop transplant patients dying needlessly by Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones.

Mr Jones hailed the success of the system which was introduced in Wales a year ago, and added that rolling it out across the UK was simply a “no brainer”.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mirror, Mr Jones said: “It’s given more people the opportunity of life.

“We did it. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility for other nations in the UK to do the same. The message I give to Jeremy Hunt is that it is working well in Wales.

“At the end of the day, judge it by the way it has operated - it has operated well. More people are alive as a result of the organs that have been made available.” Continue reading
