A hero father has given his teenage son the ultimate Christmas present, after donating him a kidney.

Lou Lawson, 40, underwent the operation after he successfully matched as a donor for his son, Joseph, who is 17-years-old.

Joseph has suffered from Alport Syndrome - a genetic condition which causes kidney disease - since he was three.

In the last two years his condition had deteriorated and he needed dialysis.
